Effective November 21, 2022, a Ukrainian refugee approved under the Uniting for Ukraine program does not need employment authorization to start working in the United States. One’s unexpired Form-94, Arrival/Departure Record, with a class of admission (CAO) of UHP is an acceptable document to permit the beneficiary to get a job while waiting for an official work permit.
Uniting for Ukraine gives the beneficiary the right to enter the United States and stay temporarily for a two-year period.
Sponsors may agree to provide you with housing and necessary groceries until you are able to support yourself. If the sponsor chooses not to assist with housing and other support, the sponsor will only be confirmed by USCIS as a Paper Sponsor. In such a situation, the program beneficiary must already have a place to live in the United States.
